Brooklyn Clay Industries Blog
Brooklyn Clay Industries (BCi) is an independent Brooklyn pottery studio, ceramics art center, and creative community located in the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard. Founded by ceramic artists, BCi has served artists, students, beginners, and New York’s creative community for more than 30 years. BCi offers small-group pottery and ceramics classes for beginner through advanced students, including wheel throwing, hand-building, glazing, and other ceramic techniques. We also provide private pottery lessons, workshops, one-time pottery experiences, private group events, and customized ceramics programs. Our expanding membership and open-studio programs provide ceramic artists with opportunities for independent practice, extended studio access, individual storage, pottery wheels, slab rollers, extruders, studio tools, glazes, worktables, and professional kiln firing. BCi also offers firing services to independent ceramic artists who are not members of the studio. Our expansion includes a second classroom and additional pottery wheels, allowing classes and member practice to take place simultaneously. We are also expanding corporate pottery workshops and team-building events for groups of approximately 20–30 participants, along with painting-on-pottery experiences, exhibitions, special workshops, and community events. BCi combines professional ceramics facilities with the personal attention of a boutique Brooklyn pottery studio. Our waterfront Brooklyn Navy Yard location offers natural light and panoramic East River and Manhattan skyline views. Whether you are looking for pottery classes in Brooklyn, private pottery lessons, ceramics studio membership, open-studio access, pottery firing services, or corporate pottery team building in NYC, BCi provides a welcoming place to learn, practice, create, and connect.
